Getting to be a supporting actor kicking ass in a new martial arts film all about the Black experience?? Yeah we call that one a dream come true.
I’m super excited for everyone [and myself] to get to experience this project for the first time on the big screen! Every single person on production, from PAs to the director, put in 110% throughout the entireity of this project, and I can’t wait to see how it turns out. Mostly, though, I’m stoked to know that a new generation of Black Martial Arts Movie enthusiasts will get to grow up with this film. That’s the best reward you can ask for in this industry.

Coming to Big Bad Film Fest!
This project is one of my first times where I really got to act beyond just being a bad guy or comic relief in the background, and I’m so excited for everyone to see it! If you’re in the LA area on August 23rd 2026, come out and see the very first screening of this short film that so many of us put our heart and soul into.

My first* mocap project!
Ok so technically this isn’t the first project I’ve done motion capture for, but it is the first one to release so that I don’t have to worry about NDAs. I was only on this project for a little while, but I had a blast working on a lot of the character animations and special moves. This comes out September of this year (2026) and I can’t wait to watch people play this and get tilted trying to beat bosses that I helped create >:)
ABOUT SAM
Sam Lee Herring, better known as F808Z, is an elite Martial Arts athlete with a background in Bboying and Tricking. He is best known for his fantastic styles of film fighting which have been influenced by video games and anime. Professionally, he is an actor, stuntman, and motion capture athlete who specializes in stage combat and fight choreography.
Interestingly enough, it was through his time attending UC Irvine that Sam found his true calling for film and digital media, and even now, he still continues his passions of personal training and education.
